The Institute for Geotechnical Engineering will host the Conference
28 June - 1 July 2010
at the Hönggerberg Campus of ETH Zurich, in Zurich, Switzerland.
Dear Physical Modellers!
Greetings from a snowy Zürich!
It is now less than 6 months until ICPMG 2010, and we are fully in the swing of putting together the conference proceedings – we are really excited about the high standard we are seeing within the 242 papers that have been submitted. We rely on you to finish the corrections and resubmit as soon as possible to help us complete preparations for the two volume set of proceedings in a timely fashion.
The Zürich branch of the Local Organising Committee have started having weekly meetings so that we can make this conference the success that all your hard work deserves. We will announce more news as we progress.
We have had two platinum sponsors sign up to support ICPMG 2010! They are ACTIDYN and BROADBENT and we are looking forward to working with them. We are still looking for sponsors, so if you are interested please refer to our Sponsor Concept or email us at info@icpmg2010.ch
The last day to take advantage of early bird registration is the 5th March 2010, and we strongly recommend that you take advantage of this offer if you are able to do so.
We are hoping to meet as many of you as possible in Zürich in June!
Best wishes
The Zürich branch of the Local Organising Committee
The aim of the conference is to disseminate the research and innovation based on physical modelling to research students, academics, practitioners and society, as well as to bring together geotechnicians to discuss the current state-of-the-art in modelling and design.
The forerunner to the International Conferences on Physical Modelling in Geotechnics began in the early eighties with the early conference in Geotechnical Centrifuge Modelling, and were so named up to 1998, before embracing all forms of geotechnical physical modelling. Researchers using 1g small and large scale models, calibration chambers, shaking tables, as well as geotechnical centrifuges, are expressly encouraged to submit papers to this conference, and to come to Zurich at the end of June 2010 to create an inspirational environment in which ideas, innovation and technological development can be shared.
September 2009 to January 2010 - Paper review
7th March 2010 – Submission of print-ready copy
