The 2010 ICPMG will take place at the Hönggerberg Campus of ETH Zurich, hosted by the Institute for Geotechnical Engineering, an Institute with a sophisticated drum centrifuge and extensive field and laboratory modelling opportunities.
Located centrally in Western Europe, Zurich is designated as one of the world’s «Most Livable Cities» and boasts a wonderful setting nestled at the end of a beautiful (post-glacial) lake with stunning views of the Alps. Accommodation is available for most price ranges. Commuting in town is safe using the well integrated public transport system.
The city boasts an impressive range of opportunities for a Post-Conference Tour and Partner Programmes throughout Switzerland, which is a popular tourist destination, famous for its chocolate, cheese, mountains and excellent civil engineering achievements. Partner Programme and the Post Conference Tour comprise visits to nature resorts such as Jungfraujoch as well as visits to some typical Swiss towns.
